About Museo Civico (The Civic Museum)
The Civic Museum in Siena is located on the first floor of the Palazzo Pubblico, Piazza del Campo.
It is accessed from the courtyard of the Palace. The museum has a historical and artistic heritage of outstanding value due to works such as Simone Martini's Majesty, the Good and Bad Government by Ambrogio Lorenzetti to the Italians and foreign paintings dating from the XVI and XI centuries, ceramic manufacturing of Siena XIV and XVIII, and other valuable collections. In the Council Hall was placed one rotating world map painted by Ambrogio Lorenzetti in 1345, consists of a round rotating frame covered with light material, unfortunately it was lost.
