The Accademia Gallery (Gallerie dell'Academia) is a museum in Venice, which collects the best art collection of Venetian Art, especially related to the paintings of the period from the fourteenth to the eighteenth century. Among the artists represented include Giorgione, Giovanni Bellini, Vittore Carpaccio, Tintoretto and Titian. There are also preserved other forms of art such as sculptures and drawings, including the famous Vitruvian Man by Leonardo da Vinci (exposed only on special occasions).

The galleries are located in the Dorsoduro district, close to Ponte dell'Accademia (The Academy Bridge), in early nineteenth century it was the vast complex formed by the Church of St Mary of Charity, Convent of the Lateran Canons and Grande St Mary of Charity School (the entrance is the portal of the latter). They are named by the Academy of Fine Arts, which has opened in 1817 and has shared the seat until 2004.

Academy of Fine Arts in Venice (Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice) is also situated within the sestiere of Dorsoduro. It was founded in 1750 by the Venetian Senate as Venice's School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture.

From Tuesday to Sunday: from 8.15 am to 7.15 pm

The ticket office closes 45 minutes before.

Closed on Monday afternoon, December 25th and January 1st.
