Racconigi is a small city in the province of Cuneo, which can be considered the gateway of the province Granda. It lies about halfway between the capitals of the two provinces (Turin and Cuneo). Lie flat on its territory less than ten thousand inhabitants. The glory of the city in Italy and Europe can be attributed to the Savoy castle UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Currently, due precisely to this royal resort, is part of the circuit of Savoy lands. The coat of arms is a white cross on a red field (it is reported on the entry door of the church of St. John the Baptist). The patron saints are St. John the Baptist Racconigi, Blessed Catherine (considered patroness of silk), San Rocco and Our Lady of Grace.
Who now lives in Racconigi do not know how to appreciate the charm and history that lie behind the doors of the dark city streets, but perhaps not everyone knows that at the end of seven hundred in a novel by an author murellese Racconigi is presented as "one of the most beautiful countries in the world." Castello di Racconigi (Racconigi Castle)
Summer Castle of Racconigi is one of the most beautiful castle in this area with very big garden on the back of it where is a place for walking. In the garden of the castle and also in Center of the Storks which is not so far from there you could see see and observe storks. One particular thing to see in the Castle of Racconigi is his very enormous kitchen that saved a big collection of cooking utensils and accessories.
Association Center for Storks and Anatidae Racconigi (Associazione Centro Cicogne e Anatidi di Racconigi)
The center will surprise you with diversity of the birds that you could see during all the year there and also many other passing seasonal birds. Once being in Racconigi you should not miss to go there and spend some time to observe birds.

How to go to Racconigi?
The city of Racconigi is situated on the south of Torino and it is very aesy to reach:
- By Car
From the Highway A6 Torino -Savona, take the exit "Carmagnola" and then follow the signs for Racconigi.
Turin ring road south: Exit La Loggia (via Carignan) or Moncalieri (via Villastellone, Carmagnola).
From Montgenevro - Sestriere - Fenestrelle - Pinerolo ring:
county road Vigone - Pancalieri - Casalgrasso - Racconigi.
From Asti - Alba: Bra direction, then divert to Pollenzo - Marene.
From Cuneo - Turin, the city is crossed by of SR20 from the hill Tenda.
- By Train
Racconigi is on the main railway Turin - Racconigi - Cuneo and Turin - Racconigi - Savona.
Every 30 minutes there is a train that runs the Turin - Racconigi and Racconigi - Torino.
Furthermore, from Nizza Marittima, via Breil - Cuneo or by Ventimiglia.
From Asti and Alba (via Bra - Cavallermaggiore).
