Trentino-Alto Adige / Südtirol is an Italian region of 1,046,851 inhabitants on the North part of the country with a capital Trento.

Trentino-Alto Adige / Südtirol has a new Statute of Autonomy since 1972. The region has largely been ousted and a large part of the competence transferred directly to the Trentino, which corresponds to the Autonomous Province of Trento, and Alto Adige corresponding to the Province of Bolzano.

The Trentino-Alto Adige is also part of a group of cross-border cooperation established within the European Union, the Euroregion Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino.
