The "discoverer in the modern era" of the theater Andrea Monga (1794-1861) who was a rich merchant after having bought the whole area conducted extensive demolition and excavation. Only in 1904 the whole area was purchased by the town of Verona who continued the works.

Today you can see the remains of auditorium and up the steirs many arches of loggias and important remains of the stage. Are also bearing walls of the stage building. On the top of the hill in 1851 were found remains of the magnificent temple that coranava original structure of the theater complex stood dell'Agige to extend from the shore with several terraces to the top of the hill with a jump in the market share of approximately 60 meters.

Arena di Verona (Verona Arena)

About Arena di Verona

Basic Information:

Arena of Verona is very well known and it is the biggest well preserved to our days arena in Italy. Even the Colosseum in Roma was not preserved on this way. So why during the summer months Arena of Verona is hosting Opera Festival and also many singers and stage bands.

The Arena of Verona is a Roman Amphitheater located in the historic center of Verona, a symbol of the city along with the figures of Romeo and Juliet. This is one of the great buildings that have characterized the playful Roman Architecture.

The construction is rather well preserved but the the lack of written sources about the opening of the amphitheater makes it very difficult to provide a safe history and so why in the past several studies have revealed very different dates, a period of time ranging from I to III century although now has shown that it can not be built after the first century.

La Tomba di Giulietta (The Tomb of Juliet)

About The Tomb of Juliet

Basic Information:

Did Romeo and Juliet really exist? Why so Verona? Why people are so crazy to visit The House of Giulietta? And moreover also The Tomb of Giulietta?

In all these questions you can find an answer in The Story of Romeo and Giulietta.

The Tomb of Giulietta

The Tomb of Juliet in Verona is another one attraction for the tourists visiting Verona. It is located in an ex monastery of friars capuccini dating from the thirteenth century. Tradition and the fantasy imagination wants it to be the burial place of Giulietta Capuleti - the star of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare.

The appearance of the place as we see it today dated back to 1937 when the head of Veronese Museums Antonio Avena (who was also busy remaking the style of the house) wanted to look more closely to the expectations of tourists to the place identified as Tomb of Shakespearean heroine Juliet.
