Trentino-Alto Adige / Südtirol is an Italian region of 1,046,851 inhabitants on the North part of the country with a capital Trento.
Trentino-Alto Adige / Südtirol has a new Statute of Autonomy since 1972. The region has largely been ousted and a large part of the competence transferred directly to the Trentino, which corresponds to the Autonomous Province of Trento, and Alto Adige corresponding to the Province of Bolzano.
The Trentino-Alto Adige is also part of a group of cross-border cooperation established within the European Union, the Euroregion Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino.

Being on the North part of Italy to Trentino-Alto Adige belong a big part of the beautiful Alps composed from lots of valleys, lakes, mountains and natural parks. Here you will find also lots of old castles, churches and picturesque villages and churches.
