About Torre Mole Antonelliana
The Tower Mole Antonelliana is is The Symbol of Torino. With its 167.5 m it is the most high building in Torino where you can enjoy and have the most beautiful view over the city. In clear days you can see the big flat called Pianura all around Torino finishing surrounded from all part by high Alps and the Hill of Torino on one part.
The tower Mole Antonelliana was started to built in 1863 like Synagogue by the project of Alessandro Antonelli. Among financial trouble and controversy about its stability the works was finished only in 1889.
In August 1904 a hurricane down the statue replaced by a star, and in 1953 a storm strikes over forty feet spire, replaced in 1958-1961 by a metal structure covered with stone, thus strengthening the structures below.
